Victoria LaFave

Victoria LaFave (she/her) is a dramaturg, educator, and scholar originally from Little Rock, Arkansas. Victoria is in her third year of the PhD program in Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Pittsburgh and is pursuing a graduate certificate in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies. Her research explores twentieth century U.S. popular performance with a focus on queer studies, affect, and cultural memory.

Victoria is completing a hybrid immersive practice credential in Dramaturgy and Education and Community Outreach. She regularly works with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s (PBT) Education Department to produce materials for student matinees and PBT School dancer education. In the summer of 2021, Victoria received an Immersive Fellowship from Humanities Engage to develop a “Decolonizing Ballet” curriculum.

Victoria has presented her research at the Southeastern Theatre Conference, Popular Culture Association, and UCLA Theater and Performance Studies Graduate Conference. She earned an MA in English from Auburn University and a BA in English and Secondary Education (summa cum laude) from the University of Central Arkansas.
