Adrian J. Ballard, MSW, LCSW, received his Masters in Social Work from Marywood University in 2014.
He subsequently worked as a Licensed Master Social Worker in a New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH)-certified outpatient community mental health clinic in rural Central New York State. His clinical practice experience entailed assessment, diagnosis, and psychotherapy with adolescents, adults, and older adults. He also headed a treatment program for mandated adults charged with sex offenses or other problematic sexual behavior. Prior experience includes adoptive family services, suicide prevention and crisis intervention, health care, medical education, non-profit, and corporate work in the Washington, DC, metro area.
Ballard’s research interests include micro- and mezzo-level variations in sexual attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors and how these relate to psychosocial functioning and social behavior. He hopes to contribute to the advancement of social work research, education, and practice focused on the sexual dimension of human experience, addressing rights of sexual liberty, safety, health, dignity, and diversity.
